Before you start
You need two things: the Umingle APK file (12 KB) and about three minutes. Grab the file from the download page, which serves the exact build we tested on real devices. If you prefer the long route through the homepage first, the Umingle APK overview explains what the file is before you commit.
Step 1: Get the APK file
Tap the download button and wait out the short countdown. Save the file to your Downloads folder and confirm it reads 12 KB when finished. A short or zero-byte file means the download was interrupted: delete it and try once more on a stable connection.
Step 2: Allow unknown apps
Android blocks installs from outside its store by default. When you tap the APK, the system will offer to take you to the right setting. Allow your browser (usually Chrome) to install unknown apps, then go back. You only do this once.
Step 3: Install the file
Tap the APK again and hit Install on the prompt. Because the file is tiny, this takes seconds. If the installer throws an error instead, our install error fixes walk through every common failure in order.
Step 4: Grant permissions
Open the app. On first launch it asks for camera and microphone access, which a video chat app genuinely needs. Grant both. If you deny them by accident, you can flip them later in Settings, as explained in the permissions guide.
Step 5: Start chatting
Choose Text or Video, optionally add a few interests, and tap Start. That is the whole process. If the app opens but never finds a stranger, the connection is the usual suspect, not the install.
