How this APK updates
Because the Umingle APK is a lightweight wrapper around the web service, most improvements arrive silently: the chat interface, matching, and moderation update on the server. The installed file only needs replacing when the wrapper itself changes, which is infrequent by design.
When you need a new file
New wrapper releases appear on the download page with fresh test notes. Update when the site says a new build is live, or when the app starts crashing after an Android OS upgrade. Do not chase updates that do not exist: if everything works, you are current.
The clean reinstall method
Download the new APK from the download page, then install it directly over the old one: Android handles the upgrade and keeps your permissions. If the install complains, uninstall the old copy first, then install fresh. The install guide covers the permission prompts you will see again.
Checking you are current
Compare the version in Settings, Apps, Umingle against the version listed on the download page. Match means current. Mismatch means grab the file. It takes less than a minute, and an up-to-date wrapper is one fewer variable when troubleshooting.
